Aboard, a startup rooted in Southern California, is officially entering the outdoor mobility market with the debut of its first product at the Outside Days festival in Denver, Colorado.
Kicking off on May 29, the launch event offers attendees an exclusive look at the company’s new extended-range electric travel trailer.
Rather than marketing the unit as a traditional towable, Aboard describes its creation as an entirely new category of mobility that seamlessly blends energy, living, and transportation into a cohesive, automotive-grade platform, according to an article by The Compass.
The public unveiling coincides with a major financial milestone for the mobility company, which recently secured a Pre-Series A funding round led by Llama Ventures and Ondine Capital.
This latest investment brings Aboard’s total financial backing to $13 million. The capital will be utilized to finalize product validation and refine manufacturing processes as the trailer advances toward mass production.
To achieve a more durable and vehicle-like build, the company is utilizing high-precision stamped body and door systems, deliberately moving away from conventional recreational vehicle construction methods.
At the heart of this new travel trailer is a hybrid-electric energy system that boasts over 200 kilowatt-hours of onboard capacity, allowing users to remain entirely off the grid for up to seven days.
To ease the towing experience and reduce range anxiety for electric tow vehicles, the platform incorporates a 45-kilowatt auxiliary drive that actively assists with acceleration and maneuvering.
The unit also features a suite of automated luxury technologies, including an integrated camera system, automatic leveling, and remote control capabilities operated via a smartphone application. Pricing for the innovative trailer is expected to begin at approximately $80,000.
The interior design of the trailer prioritizes both practical usability and modern aesthetics, offering flexible sleeping arrangements capable of comfortably accommodating up to four people.
The layout includes a fully equipped kitchen and a unique mudroom-style bathroom that provides immediate access to both indoor and outdoor showers.
Large panoramic windows and floor-to-ceiling glazing create a spacious, airy atmosphere, while multi-use spaces and integrated storage compartments ensure the cabin can easily adapt to various travel styles and demanding outdoor conditions.
Aboard’s entry signals a continued shift toward electrification and automotive-grade manufacturing within the towable segment.
