A new £3.2 million luxury lodge development is scheduled to open this summer at Windy Harbour Holiday Park in Poulton on the Fylde coast, marking the latest phase of investment by family-owned holiday park operator Partington’s.
The development, known as Lake View, will feature 16 premium holiday lodges located in a newly developed area of the park along the banks of the River Wyre. According to the company, the lodges have been designed to maximize lakeside views and provide an upscale accommodation option for guests visiting the destination.
The launch follows a period of continued investment at Windy Harbour Holiday Park. In 2024, Partington’s announced plans for a wider £75 million leisure destination at the site. The proposal includes a 102-bed hotel, a new lodge park accommodating up to 495 holiday homes, a luxury spa, and additional leisure facilities, signaling the company’s long-term strategy to expand its tourism and accommodation offering in Lancashire.
Partington’s operates a portfolio of holiday parks across Lancashire, the Lake District, and the Yorkshire Dales. The introduction of Lake View represents an expansion of the company’s premium accommodation segment as holiday park operators increasingly seek to attract guests looking for higher-end lodging experiences.
Rob Kearsley, joint chief executive of Partington’s, said: “We have designed Lake View from the ground up to offer a level of comfort and relaxation that feels worlds away from everyday life.
“We wanted to create something truly special for our guests at Windy Harbour Holiday Park and this will be a place where luxury meets nature in the most effortless way.”
“With each individual lodge valued at an estimated £200,000; Lake View presents the opportunity to enjoy spending time at a premium holiday home, whether that’s a restful weekend break or an extended stay with the chance to create longer lasting memories in beautiful surroundings.”
Andrea Challis, joint chief executive, told LancashireBusinessView: “We’re incredibly proud of this new development.”
“It highlights our commitment to continuous innovation and provides a holiday experience that’s unlike anything we’ve offered before.”
“We can’t wait for guests to enjoy it and will share lots of updates as the build progresses.”
For outdoor hospitality professionals, the development reflects a broader trend across the holiday park and glamping sectors toward investment in premium accommodations and resort-style amenities.
Operators in competitive leisure markets are increasingly diversifying their accommodation mix to appeal to guests seeking higher levels of comfort while maintaining access to natural surroundings.
The Lake View project also demonstrates how phased investments can support wider destination development plans, with premium lodging serving as an early component of larger resort expansion strategies.
The opening of Lake View this summer will provide an early indication of demand for luxury lodge accommodations as Partington’s continues work toward its longer-term vision for Windy Harbour Holiday Park following the announcement of its major redevelopment plans in 2024.
