Pario Holiday Parks Expands North Wales Portfolio With Crugan Acquisition

Pario Holiday Parks has expanded its presence in North Wales with the acquisition of Crugan Holiday Park in Llanbedrog, adding a fifth property to its regional portfolio.

Crugan officially joined Pario Holiday Parks on August 12, 2026. The acquisition brings the holiday home ownership park into the same portfolio as Marine Holiday Park, Tan Rallt Holiday Park, Bryn Defaid Holiday Park and nearby Gimblet Rock Holiday Park.

Located on the Llŷn Peninsula, Crugan Holiday Park is situated close to Llanbedrog Beach and less than five miles from Abersoch. The park has around 100 privately owned holiday homes and operates differently from several of Pario’s other North Wales properties, as it is exclusively for holiday home owners rather than accommodating seasonal holidaymakers.

The park’s setting is a key part of its offering, with access to the coastline and surrounding countryside. It also includes a woodland play area for families. Under Pario’s ownership, Crugan is expected to continue operating as an exclusive holiday home ownership park, with the company stating that it plans to invest in the property while maintaining its existing character and atmosphere.

For Pario, the acquisition represents a further expansion of its presence in a region where tourism and holiday home ownership form an important part of the visitor economy. Adding an established ownership-focused park also gives the operator a different type of asset within its portfolio compared with parks that combine holiday accommodation with holiday home ownership.

Rio Williams, group director of Pario Holiday Parks, explained to BusinessNewsWales:

“We’ve admired Crugan for a long time. It’s a beautiful park in one of the most sought-after parts of North Wales, so the opportunity to welcome it into the Pario family was one we were incredibly excited about.

“What attracted us was the opportunity to build on what makes Crugan special. Owners already love the park for its peaceful setting, fantastic location and strong sense of community, and our role is to invest thoughtfully, look after it for the long term and make sure people continue creating memories there for many years to come.”

Samantha Williams, group director at Pario Holiday Parks, said the company’s family-run structure would remain central to its approach as the business expands.

“As a family-run business, we’re passionate about creating places people are proud to be part of. Although we’re continuing to grow, that personal approach will never change. We’re looking forward to building on Crugan’s fantastic reputation while respecting everything that has made it such a well-loved park.”

The acquisition also illustrates how park operators can expand through established holiday home ownership sites rather than relying solely on traditional short-term accommodation. For operators considering portfolio growth, ownership parks can provide a different revenue model and customer relationship from transient accommodation, while acquisitions can also offer opportunities to invest in existing infrastructure and amenities.

Pario said Crugan will remain focused on holiday home ownership following the August 12 acquisition. Holiday homes at the park are available for purchase, providing an opportunity for the operator to attract new owners while continuing to serve the approximately 100 existing privately owned holiday homes on site.

The company has also said that its approach to Crugan will involve investment over the long term while preserving the characteristics that have established the park’s existing owner community. For the wider North Wales market, the acquisition adds another example of continued activity among private holiday park operators seeking to build regional portfolios while maintaining distinct positioning across individual properties.
