World of Hyatt has announced the return of Camp Unwritten, a literary-themed travel experience created in partnership with Reese’s Book Club, with two scheduled gatherings planned for spring and early summer 2026 at luxury glamping destinations in the American West.
The events will take place May 4–6 at Under Canvas Yosemite in California and June 8–10 at ULUM Moab in Utah, bringing readers and authors together in outdoor settings that combine literary programming with nature-based travel experiences.
The program debuted in 2025 and is designed to bring book club members and travelers together for in-person discussions with authors, along with activities centered around reading, outdoor exploration, and small-group social events.
The 2026 edition will again focus on limited-capacity gatherings hosted in glamping-style accommodations located near national parks and other natural attractions.
The first event will take place at Under Canvas Yosemite, a safari-style glamping property located near Yosemite National Park. The May 4–6 gathering will focus on romance-themed literature and will include bestselling author Rainbow Rowell, whose novel Cherry Baby is scheduled for release on April 14, 2026.
Organizers told ftnNews another Reese’s Book Club author will also participate, though that guest has not yet been publicly announced. Programming during the Yosemite session will include author conversations, group discussions, and opportunities for guests to spend time reading and exploring the surrounding landscape.
The second event will take place June 8–10 at ULUM Moab, a glamping resort located near Looking Glass Arch and within view of Canyonlands National Park. The Moab session will center on suspense and thriller fiction and will feature authors Lauren Ling Brown and Andrea Bartz.
Organizers said discussions and programming will reflect the tone of those genres, with author-led sessions and social gatherings taking place throughout the retreat.
According to Katie Casey, AVP, Global Marketing, World of Hyatt, the program responds to growing interest in shared, in-person experiences tied to travel.
“In a culture shaped by an increasingly digital world, members have told us they are craving shared stories and meaningful IRL connections. We saw this firsthand at last year’s Camp Unwritten where new friendships sparked, old ones deepened, and outdoor rituals gave members more space to recharge,” said Katie Casey, AVP, global marketing, World of Hyatt.
The partnership also includes Hello Sunshine, the media company founded by Reese Witherspoon and home to Reese’s Book Club. “At Hello Sunshine, we believe stories are meant to be experienced—not just read,” said Maureen Polo, CEO of Hello Sunshine.
“We’re thrilled to collaborate with World of Hyatt for a second year to bring Reese’s Book Club to life in unforgettable settings across the country, where book lovers can gather under the stars, connect with beloved authors, and celebrate the power of storytelling together.”
For operators in the outdoor hospitality and glamping sectors, programs like Camp Unwritten highlight a growing strategy within experiential travel: pairing accommodations with themed events that attract niche communities.
Author-led retreats, wellness weekends, culinary gatherings, and similar programming can create additional reasons for travelers to book overnight stays, particularly during shoulder seasons or midweek periods.
The use of limited-capacity events tied to cultural or lifestyle interests can also help properties differentiate themselves in competitive markets near national parks and outdoor recreation hubs.
As more hospitality brands look for ways to increase guest engagement and extend length of stay, partnerships with book clubs, creators, and cultural organizations are becoming one approach to building community-based travel experiences.
Camp Unwritten’s 2026 schedule reflects this broader trend by combining literary programming with outdoor settings at two glamping properties located near major natural attractions, offering travelers a mix of author events, social interaction, and time spent in nature.
