Lyons Holiday Parks is preparing to open a new leisure complex at Lyons Lido Beach Holiday Park in Prestatyn, Wales, with the facility scheduled to welcome the public for the first time on Friday, September 11.
The development includes a new welcome area and reception, an owners’ lounge, a sales office, and an Autograph restaurant with a bar and outdoor terrace. The restaurant brand already operates at Lyons Eryl Hall in St Asaph and Lyons Woodlands Hall in Ruthin.
Autograph will open at 5 p.m. on September 11. Its scheduled hours are 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. The restaurant’s menu includes daily themed specials, including “burger Monday,” “tapas Tuesday,” “wing-it Wednesday,” “three-course Thursday,” “fish Friday,” “steak Saturday” and “roast Sunday.”
The bar is also scheduled to offer a weekday happy hour from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., excluding bank holidays.
According to the Rhyl, Prestatyn, and Abergele Journal, the opening follows a licensing application submitted by Lyons to Denbighshire County Council in July. The application seeks permission for live music, recorded music, late-night refreshments and the supply of alcohol at the premises.
The licensing application was originally scheduled to be considered by the council’s licensing sub-committee on September 3, but that meeting was moved to September 8. The proposed operating hours included in the application are 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. Monday through Sunday, with late-night refreshments proposed from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
The proposed licensing arrangements indicate that the facility could operate beyond the restaurant’s currently published opening hours if the requested permissions are granted.
For holiday park operators, the development illustrates how food, beverage and entertainment facilities can be incorporated into a park’s amenity offering while also potentially extending the range of services available to guests and holiday homeowners.
A Lyons spokesperson said: “The premises licence has been applied for to enable the operation of the restaurant and bar, including the sale of alcohol and the provision of regular live entertainment and events.
“These facilities are intended to enhance the experience for our holiday guests and holiday home owners by providing a high-quality venue for dining, socialising, and entertainment.
“In addition to serving those staying at the park, the new complex will also be open to the wider community.
“We hope it will become a welcoming destination for local residents and visitors to the area, offering a quality food, drink, and entertainment venue that contributes positively to the local tourism and hospitality offer.
“We look forward to bringing this exciting new facility to Lyons Lido Beach Holiday Park and believe it will provide significant benefits for both our customers and the local community.”
The decision on the premises license will be an important next step for the park as it plans the broader use of the new complex.
