Riverside Caravan Park Named AA North West Campsite of the Year 2026

Riverside Caravan Park, a family-run holiday park in High Bentham, North Craven, England, has been named AA North West Campsite of the Year for 2026 as part of the AA Caravan & Camping Awards.

The award recognizes the park’s facilities, hospitality, and approach to guest satisfaction. The annual awards highlight outdoor accommodation businesses across the UK, providing recognition for operators in the caravan and camping sector.

John Marshall, operations director at Riverside Caravan Park, said the recognition reflects the work of the family and its staff in maintaining the guest experience.

“As a family-run business, guest experience is really important to us, so much so that you will usually find one of us around at all times, ready to make people’s holidays and trips really special.

“To receive recognition like this from the AA means so much to us.

“It’s a real testament to the hard work of our team, and we’re incredibly proud to see Riverside recognised among some of the best campsites in the country.”

According to Craven Herald & Pioneer, Riverside Caravan Park first opened in March 1970 and has operated for more than 55 years. The business remains under family management, with the third generation now overseeing operations.

The park offers touring pitches and holiday cottages, serving visitors traveling to the Yorkshire Dales, Forest of Bowland, and surrounding countryside. Its combination of touring accommodations and fixed holiday rentals allows it to cater to different types of visitors, including those traveling with caravans and other recreational vehicles as well as guests seeking self-contained lodging.

The recognition highlights the role of established, independently operated holiday parks in the UK’s outdoor accommodation market. For operators, industry awards can provide external validation of service standards and help strengthen a property’s visibility among prospective guests. Recognition from established organizations such as the AA may also support marketing efforts, particularly when communicating a park’s facilities, hospitality, and reputation to potential customers.

Riverside’s history also illustrates the continuity that can come with multigenerational family ownership. Having operated since 1970, the business has maintained its family management structure while continuing to serve visitors to the surrounding rural destinations.

The 2026 award adds to the park’s recognition within the regional camping and caravan sector, placing it among the businesses acknowledged through this year’s AA Caravan & Camping Awards.
