Todd’s Lakeside Seasonal RV Resort in Peachland is set to reopen under new management with a seasonal operating model. This summer, the campground will begin accepting reservations for stays from May to October.
Formerly known as Todd’s RV and Camping, this destination has been a getaway for over 60 years in the Okanagan region. According to an article published by Castanet on May 3, the new ownership spearheads the campground’s revival.
The revamped business strategy focuses on seasonal stays, allowing guests to book extended time. The resort will cater to travelers with self-contained RVs, featuring 56 sites designed to accommodate these vehicles. It features washrooms with showers and a dump station. However, it will no longer accept tent campers.
“Campers wanting to stay full-time between May and October will be given priority. Those who want to stay less than that will be contacted if we have space. This summer, we are open to self-contained units. We have power/water sites and full-service sites available,” the resort’s Facebook post indicates.
The Okanagan Valley is known for its landscapes and recreational activities. The area invites exploration with expansive vineyards, crystal-clear lakes ideal for water sports, and cultural experiences ranging from quaint shops and galleries to farm-to-table restaurants.
Other activities include hiking Pincushion Mountain trails, visiting Wibit Water Park, and experiencing ZipZone in Peachland.
Todd’s Lakeside Seasonal RV Resort’s decision to focus on seasonal stays for guests with self-contained units is a targeted approach from which other RV park owners and campground operators can learn. By focusing on a specific market segment, the resort maximizes its appeal to guests seeking longer-term stays, leading to higher occupancy rates and more stable revenue streams throughout the operating season. Campgrounds looking to enhance their business model might consider identifying and focusing on a niche market that aligns with their location and facilities.
Furthermore, Todd’s strategic communication through its Facebook page about availability and specific accommodations like power/water sites and full-service sites provides transparency that builds trust with potential guests. This clear, direct communication method is essential in managing customer expectations and can increase satisfaction. By providing detailed information about the amenities and specific types of stays offered, campgrounds can attract guests who are the best fit for their facilities.
