Yogi Bear-Themed Jellystone Park Locations Expand Nationwide to Meet Record Business Demand for 2023 Season

Jellystone Park Camp-Resort locations across the United States and Canada are gearing up for an unprecedented surge in business as they prepare for the highly anticipated 2023 camping season.

As per a press release, the overwhelming demand from families and outdoor enthusiasts has prompted more than 20 Yogi Bear-themed park operators to embark on ambitious expansion plans, adding new cabin/rental accommodations and RV sites to accommodate the growing number of travelers seeking memorable outdoor experiences.

Trent Hershenson, the vice president of Marketing for Camp Jellystone, the Southfield, Michigan-based company franchising Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts, shared exciting news about the current expansion efforts.

“Expansions are underway at more than 20 of our locations across the country,” Hershenson revealed. Many of the new cabins and campsites will be available Memorial Day, but some will open later in the summer.

From the scenic shores of Chincoteague Island, Virginia, to the picturesque lakes of Waller, Texas, Jellystone Park locations are gearing up to offer even more options for families and outdoor enthusiasts. These expansion plans include adding new RV sites, cabins, glamping tents, and other unique accommodations to cater to the diverse needs of travelers.

One of the Jellystone Park locations undergoing expansion is Asheboro, North Carolina, which is adding 67 RV sites, bringing the total to 131 sites and 13 cabins, including one quad site, to accommodate more travelers.

Bath, New York, is also undergoing remodeling to create a comfortable lodging option for up to eight guests by converting an existing apartment above its camp store.

Burleson, Texas, has recently opened 44 new Red Carpet luxury RV sites, with plans to introduce 14 new tipis and 12 covered wagons this spring. In addition, 19 grain bin cabins and three honeymoon grain bin cabins are set to open by late spring, offering unique and cozy accommodations for visitors. Meanwhile, Carver, Massachusetts, is adding 83 cabins to provide more options for families and outdoor enthusiasts seeking a convenient and comfortable stay.

Cave City, Kentucky, is adding 14 glamping tents that can sleep up to eight people, providing a unique camping experience for nature lovers.

Chincoteague Island, Virginia, is upgrading its 21 furnished safari tents with air-conditioning and replacing many on-site RVs with new units. The location is also converting some spaces to deluxe pull-through RV sites for added comfort and convenience.

Fremont, Indiana, is adding 23 bungalow rentals, while Glen Ellis, New Hampshire, is adding 29 cabins and ten glamping pods, offering unique barrel-shaped accommodations with wood panel walls, heating and air-conditioning, a miniature refrigerator, and a microwave. Glen Ellis is also adding electrical hookups to 47 of its rustic tent sites to provide more options for campers, complementing the location’s existing 138 RV sites.

Other Jellystone Park locations undergoing expansion include Jamestown, New York, which plans to add a new cabin to cater to the growing demand from travelers.

Kerrville, Texas, is adding two multifamily cabins with four bedrooms and three bathrooms to accommodate larger groups.

Millbrook, Illinois, is building a new amphitheater set to open in May, providing entertainment options for guests.

Mt. Gilead, Ohio, has recently added 30 new cabins to provide more lodging options for visitors.

North Monmouth, Maine, is adding five cabins and one large occupancy house that can sleep up to 16 people, offering more options for families and groups.

Pittsfield, Illinois, has plans to add more than 50 new cabins, 40 new RV sites, and additional amenities such as a splash pad and a dog park to enhance the camping experience for guests.

Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is also undergoing expansion with the addition of new cabins and glamping options, as well as upgrades to its amenities, such as the pool and playground.

The expansion efforts directly respond to the growing demand for outdoor vacations and the increasing popularity of Jellystone Park locations among families and outdoor enthusiasts.

The Yogi Bear-themed parks are known for their family-friendly atmosphere, with a wide range of amenities and activities that cater to guests of all ages, including water parks, mini-golf, hiking trails, fishing, and organized themed activities such as scavenger hunts and arts and crafts.

In addition to expanding accommodations, many Jellystone Park locations are investing in upgrades to their existing amenities and facilities to ensure guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. These upgrades include improvements to water parks, playgrounds, hiking trails, common areas, and new recreational options such as splash pads, dog parks, and amphitheaters for entertainment.

With the expansion plans underway, Jellystone Park locations are eagerly preparing for the 2023 camping season, expecting a record-breaking year in bookings and guest satisfaction.
