Cheyenne Mountain State Park has added two new sleeping cabins designed to make the park more accessible for guests.
The park said that each cabin comes with bunk beds, a small kitchen, a dining room, a bathroom, and a patio. They are situated side-by-side at the Meadows Group Campground and are available for rent.
“We are excited to offer these new cabins to the public. I think it will increase accessibility for people who do not have an RV or camper trailer, [and give] them an opportunity to enjoy Cheyenne Mountain State Park,” said Jason Hagan, with Cheyenne Mountain State Park.
In 2019, state parks saw over 14 million visitors. Two years later, the number grew to almost 20 million. The state estimates another 20 million people will be visiting Colorado parks this year.
We continue to see increase visitation at the park, not only in our campground but in our day-to-day use,” said Hagan.
Six people can enjoy the night in each cabin with a price of $120 per night and a minimum two-night stay.
“We are in bear country at the park. We have quite a few bears in the area, so people need to be mindful of their trash and not leave any food outdoors,” said Hagan.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife campsite’s cabins can be reserved through the CPW website.
