Hersheypark Camping Resort is celebrating its 60th anniversary this summer, marking six decades of creating memorable camping experiences in Hershey (Pennsylvania).
As per its website, since 1963, the campground has welcomed guests to its 55 acres of picturesque hills, evolving from an initial 50-site campground into a thriving resort.
The history of the land dates back to 1823 when it was the Landis Family Farm. In the 1960s, the Hershey Estates (now Hershey Entertainment & Resorts) Board established High Meadow Campground on the property.
Over the years, the campground has grown, now offering more than 300 RV and tent sites and 50 cabins. The Landis family’s barn and home remain on the property, repurposed into a country store, check-in area, and game room.
Today, Hersheypark Camping Resort continues to attract families and friends, providing a relaxing and fun environment for campers. In honor of its 60th anniversary, the resort is the perfect destination for those looking to experience a memorable camping trip this summer, whether in a cabin, an RV, or a tent along the creek.
Private campground owners and operators can learn from the success of Hersheypark Camping Resort, which has expanded by investing in infrastructure improvements and catering to diverse customer preferences in accommodations. The resort offers a variety of lodging options, from basic log cabins to 1 or 2-bedroom deluxe cabins, as well as RV and tent sites with different hook-up options.
Engaging activities and amenities are essential to the success of any campground, and Hersheypark Camping Resort is no exception. Collaborating with local attractions like Hersheypark has also enhanced guest experiences and attracted repeat business.
Special packages are available this summer, offering savings on stays that include Hersheypark tickets. As an Official Resort of Hersheypark, guests receive free resort benefits such as discounted admission to Hershey Gardens and The Hershey Story’s Museum Experience and complimentary shuttle service to and from the park.
Throughout the summer, guests can enjoy various family-friendly activities, including comedy magic shows, educational animal programs, games, and crafts. A new offering this summer is Kids’ Check-In, where children can sign a check-in book, spin a prize wheel, and participate in Hershey’s candy guessing game on Fridays from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
The 60th anniversary of Hersheypark Camping Resort serves as a testament to the resort’s commitment to providing an enjoyable and unforgettable camping experience for all its guests.
