The RV Industry Association (RVIA) has opened registration for its 2026 Regulatory and Safety Compliance Seminar, a complimentary event for members that will bring together industry compliance professionals, safety experts and legal specialists for discussions on regulatory issues, recall management and emerging technologies.
The seminar is scheduled for Wednesday, July 29, at the Lerner Theatre in Elkhart, Indiana. According to the association, the event is open to all interested parties, with a particular focus on individuals responsible for regulatory compliance and safety, as well as those seeking a better understanding of safety and recall processes.
The program will begin with a keynote presentation by Will Godfrey, director of mobility, automation and safety at Thompson Hine LLP. Godfrey is expected to address attendees before a series of expert-led panel discussions covering key compliance and safety topics facing the recreational vehicle industry.
Panel sessions will examine identifying safety issues, sustaining a safety culture, collaboration with dealers on recall management and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in regulatory and safety compliance.
The association said attendees will also have opportunities to ask questions and participate in discussions with industry experts.
The seminar will feature panelists and moderators representing manufacturers, suppliers and technical organizations from across the RV industry.
Scheduled participants include Mike Becker, head of compliance at Forest River; Dennis Carl, NHTSA and quality leader at Brinkley RV; Troy Cornell, director of product safety and compliance at Winnebago Industries; David Mihalick, vice president of vehicle safety and regulatory compliance at THOR Industries; Von Lindsey, owner of Lindsey Research Services; David Stevenson, quality team leader at ATC Trailers; Pamela VanderMel, vice president of warranty at Lippert; and Nick Woolsey, Ph.D., scientist at Exponent.
The association listed David Mihalick twice among the announced panelists, identifying him as vice president of vehicle safety and regulatory compliance at THOR Industries.
Registration for the seminar is available to RVIA members at no cost. The organization said the event is made possible through sponsorship from Winnebago Industries, Forest River Inc., THOR Industries, Lippert, Dometic, Dexter and Thompson Hine LLP.
