Hersheypark Camping Resort has introduced a new accommodation option for campers this summer: a second tiny home built by Milton Hershey School (MHS) students.
In the campground’s latest update on June 6, the new Tiny Home 2, now available for booking, offers a modern experience within its 340-square-foot space. Designed with a cabin-like aesthetic, it can accommodate up to five guests. Additionally, it features two full-size beds, one accessible by steps and another through a crawl space ideal for children.
Campers will also appreciate the micro kitchen, which is equipped with a stovetop and refrigerator. They can enjoy meals at a collapsible dining table indoors or at a picnic table on the porch.
In addition to campground’s offerings, the Tiny Home 1 offers a cozy 250-square-foot loft-style accommodation that caters up to five guests. It also offers indoor plumbing with a small bathroom and shower, electric heating and air conditioning, a TV with cable, and other amenities.
Another aspect of these tiny homes is their connection to Milton Hershey School. Both tiny homes were built by students from the school’s Career & Technical Education program. The homes were relocated from MHS to the campground, where they are now ready to host guests.
In an article published by Milton Hershey School, Edwin Villanueva, a student at MHS, shared his experience in the design process. “We had to determine everything, even small things like baseboards and knowing what size fridge was needed,” Villanueva said.
Hersheypark Camping Resort, which has been welcoming guests since 1963, spans 55 acres and features over 300 open and shaded RV and tent sites, along with 50 cabins.
Another aspect of the campground is its recreational activities. Guests can enjoy an outdoor pool, playgrounds, a community s’mores area, an indoor game room, shuffleboard, basketball, volleyball, and various family-friendly activities.
