The Pennsylvania Campground Owners Association (PCOA) is coordinating support efforts for campgrounds impacted by recent severe storms across the state, offering to connect affected operators with fellow members, suppliers, contractors and other available resources.
The association said campgrounds have experienced challenges including high winds, heavy rain, flooding, downed trees, power outages, and damage to buildings, campsites and infrastructure following the storms.
“We know many campgrounds have faced significant challenges over the past several days,” PCOA Executive Director Jason Vaughan and President Tyler Grim said in a joint message to members.
The association encouraged campground owners and operators affected by the storms to report damage and operational impacts to help PCOA understand the extent of the disruption across Pennsylvania. The information may also assist the association if state or federal assistance programs become available or if advocacy efforts are needed.
PCOA requested that affected campgrounds provide a brief description of damage, photos of impacted areas, and details on operational effects such as power outages, flooding, road closures, or closures of campsites and amenities.
“Please know that PCOA is here to help,” the association said in its announcement. “While we may not have every solution, we will do our best to connect you with fellow members, suppliers, contractors, equipment, or other resources that may be available.”
The organization also asked members who are able to provide assistance to other campgrounds to share information about available equipment, supplies, staff support or other resources.
Vaughan and Grim said campground operators often support guests while simultaneously managing storm-related cleanup, repairs and operational decisions.
“Your resilience, professionalism, and commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for your campers never goes unnoticed,” they said.
PCOA said the recovery effort reflects the association’s focus on member-to-member support and coordination during challenging situations.
The association asked members to contact the PCOA office with information about storm impacts, assistance needs or available resources.
