The Pennsylvania Campground Owners Association (PCOA) continues its outreach efforts to members across the state as the 2026 camping season progresses, with association representatives conducting a series of campground visits aimed at strengthening communication, answering questions, and discussing membership benefits.
According to a June 23 update from the association, PCOA has completed three regional trips so far this season. Earlier visits included campgrounds in the Pittsburgh and Countryside region as well as locations throughout Upstate Pennsylvania and the Susquehanna River Valley.
Most recently, representatives traveled through the Dutch Country, Philadelphia, and Lehigh Valley regions, visiting Lazy K Campground, White Oak Campground, Mill Bridge Campground, Country Acres Campground, Birchview Farms Campground, Hidden Acres Campground, and Flory’s Cottages & Camping.
The association said the visits provide an opportunity to maintain direct engagement with campground operators and discuss issues affecting member businesses. Joining the outreach efforts this summer is Joanie Wood, a college senior serving as an intern with PCOA’s management company. Wood is a third-generation member of the family behind Blue Rocks Family Campground and is the daughter of Jed and Stacey Wood.
In addition to member outreach, PCOA is encouraging campground operators to assess their inventory of the 2026 Pennsylvania Camping Directory. The association noted that supplies are becoming limited and urged campgrounds to order additional copies if needed for guests seeking information on camping destinations throughout the state.
The organization is also promoting participation in cooperative marketing initiatives, including advertising opportunities in the 2027 Pennsylvania Travel Guide. Campground operators interested in increasing their visibility to potential travelers can inquire about available listings through the association.
Several administrative deadlines and reminders were also highlighted in the update. PCOA membership renewals for 2026 are currently due, and operators who have not yet renewed are encouraged to contact the association with any questions regarding the renewal process. Featured listing renewal forms have also been mailed to members, with replacement forms available upon request.
The association’s update coincides with several developments affecting the travel and outdoor hospitality sectors. Industry news cited by PCOA includes AAA’s forecast that a record 72.2 million Americans will travel during the Fourth of July holiday period, a trend that could support increased demand for campgrounds, RV parks, and other outdoor accommodations during one of the busiest travel periods of the year.
Additional industry topics referenced include retail spending trends, advocacy initiatives discussed during the C.A.M.P. Spring Meeting, and growing cybersecurity considerations related to emerging artificial intelligence technologies.
For campground owners and operators, the combination of strong holiday travel forecasts, ongoing marketing opportunities, and member engagement efforts underscores the importance of preparing for peak-season demand.
Maintaining updated marketing materials, ensuring visibility in regional travel guides, and staying informed about industry developments may help operators capitalize on increased traveler activity throughout the remainder of the 2026 camping season.
PCOA also invited members to share personal and business milestones with the association, including birthdays, weddings, births, and campground achievements, as part of its ongoing efforts to foster community engagement among Pennsylvania campground operators.
