Open Road Resorts (ORR), an outdoor hospitality company specializing in RV parks and campgrounds, announced its acquisition of the Santa Fe KOA Journey in New Mexico. This acquisition marks the sixth property in ORR’s portfolio and its first venture in the state.
The Santa Fe KOA Journey, situated in the backdrop of the Sangre de Cristo mountains, offers guests a family-friendly environment with amenities designed for comfort and convenience. The park has earned high ratings under the stewardship of its former owners, Gerry and Carlissa Hodges.
Chase Becker expressed enthusiasm for expanding into the Santa Fe market. “We are delighted to enter the Santa Fe market with one of the premier RV parks in the Southwestern United States,” Becker said, acknowledging the efforts of the Hodges in elevating the campground to its current status.
“We look forward to building upon their legacy in the coming years,” Becker added.
Jim Omstrom echoed Becker’s sentiments, emphasizing ORR’s vision to create a park network that provides consistent and memorable experiences for visitors. “The Santa Fe KOA Journey fits squarely within Open Road Resorts’ goal of building a collection of parks that offer our guests a consistent, high-quality, memorable experience at desirable destinations across the U.S.,” Omstrom remarked, adding that plans for the park include expanding its footprint in the coming years.
According to the former owners, the acquisition process was smooth and professional. Gerry and Carlissa Hodges commended ORR for their professionalism throughout the negotiations. “They work with high integrity, great communication, and were always available to answer questions and talk through our concerns,” they stated.
“They were professional yet personable. The perfect combination. We highly recommend working with Open Road Resorts,” they added.
Located less than 15 minutes from the city’s center, the campground provides easy access to iconic attractions like the Santa Fe Plaza, the San Miguel Mission, and the Palace of the Governors.
Guests can also explore the area’s scene along Canyon Road or enjoy weekend festivals and local cuisine.
Founded in 2019 by Becker and Jim Omstrom, ORR was established with the vision of delivering a “best-in-class” experience for RV travelers. Their goal is to “create a network of clean, safe, and highly amenitized, family-friendly parks” across the U.S.
