New Jersey campgrounds are preparing to host domestic and international visitors traveling for FIFA World Cup 26 matches in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, scheduled from June through July, including the final on July 19.
The expected influx of fans is prompting campground operators and RV rental providers across the state to position themselves as lodging options for travelers attending matches at venues in both New Jersey and neighboring Pennsylvania.
Operators are promoting RV sites, cabin rentals, and on-site accommodations to meet demand during the tournament period.
According to a press release, Joann DelVescio, executive director of the New Jersey Campground Owners Association (NJCOA), said campground operators have been preparing since the event was announced.
“Our campground operators have been looking forward to this event since it was announced,” says DelVescio. “We’re excited that New Jersey will be welcoming so many people from around the world for this amazing event and we want them to know they have quality camping and on-site rental options ready to be reserved at our parks,” DelVescio added.
DelVescio directed travelers to NJCOA’s website, www.gocampingnj.com, where users can plan trips using “Find a Campground” tools and browse “Camping Deals & News.”
She noted that RV parks and campgrounds across the state offer a range of accommodations, including sites, cabins, and cottages.
Suggested campgrounds near match locations include Liberty Harbor RV Park, 13 miles from New York New Jersey Stadium; Indian Rock RV Park, 52 miles from Philadelphia and 60 miles from New York New Jersey Stadium; Kymers Camping Resort, 50 miles from New York New Jersey Stadium; Great Divide Campground, 50 miles from New York New Jersey Stadium; Camp Taylor Campground, 65 miles from New York New Jersey Stadium; TripleBrook Camping Resort, 59 miles from New York New Jersey Stadium; Old Cedar Campground, 30 miles from Philadelphia; Oldman’s Creek Campground, 24 miles from Philadelphia; and Spacious Skies Country Oaks, 47 miles from Philadelphia.
Domestic and international travelers are also turning to RV rentals as part of their World Cup planning.
Peter Gigantino, COO of 84 RV Rentals in Sussex, said early reservations are essential. “Even with one of the newest and largest motorhome fleets in the Northeast, inventory remains limited and customers are encouraged to reserve as soon as possible,” said Gigantino.
“With motorhomes ranging from 24′ to spacious 32′ models that comfortably sleep up to eight, guests from across the country and around the world are invited to book online at 84rv.com or call 973-875-4961 to receive exceptional customer service while planning their World Cup travel experience,” Gigantino added.
FIFA World Cup 26 matches are scheduled from June 13 to July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, which will be known as New York New Jersey Stadium during the event. Matches will also be held at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia from June 14 to July 4.
The tournament spans Canada, Mexico, and the United States and will be the first World Cup featuring 48 teams.
