MC Fireside Chats: A Chat with RVTI Executive Director Curtis Hemmeler and The Unhustle Bustle

Next week on MC Fireside Chats, Curtis Hemmeler, the executive director of the RV Technical Institute (RVTI), is joining the show to discuss the importance of RV technicians in the industry and how dealerships and technicians can collaborate to provide the best service.

Hemmeler brings two decades of professional experience in technical education and training to the RVTI. He has extensive experience in sales, marketing, fundraising, and developing community partnerships.

Before joining the institute, he served as the vice president of operations and strategy at WyoTech, a division of Zenith Education that trains auto and diesel technicians. In that position, he led a team of over 300 across three locations.

As he continues to be part of the RVTI, Hemmeler is looking forward to building a first-class technical and educational program that will ensure that the RV industry’s success continues for generations and generations to come.

During the August 24 episode, RVTI’s executive director will also touch on the opportunity for women to be RV techs. The institute has partnered with the RV Women’s Alliance (RVWA) to have an all-female RV technician class.

Moreover, he will take part in a general discussion about the RV industry among a panel of executives from the RV Dealers Association, Canadian RV Association, and RV Women’s Alliance, who guest on the show every fourth Wednesday of the month.

Jason Gossett, a new full-time RVer, will also join MC Fireside Chats for a consumer’s point of view about the RV industry.

Gossett of The Unhustle Bustle has over 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, doing internal audit, risk management, compliance, interior design, and corporate training for campgrounds, resorts, RV sites, and marinas.

New to the RV life, he is currently exploring the country with his family aboard their bus conversion. The family recently traveled 2,800 miles from Orlando to Washington.

Recurring guests every fourth Wednesday of the month include Shane Devenish, the president of the Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association (CRVA) and executive director of the Canadian Camping and RV Council (CCRVC); Eleonore Hamm, the president of the RV Dealers Association of Canada (RVDAC), Phil Ingrassia, president of the RV Dealers Association (RVDA); and Susan Carpenter, the founder of RV Women’s Alliance.

Kurt Repanshek, the founder and editor-in-chief of the National Parks Traveler, will also return next week as a recurring guest for a conversation about outdoor recreation in the United States, specifically in national parks.

Previously, Black Rock Adventure Park and Campground co-owner Kyle Krieg joined the show to discuss the impact of amenities, accommodations, and innovation on the experience of guests and staff members.

Regular guests Mike Harrison from CRR Lifestyle, Duncan Winship from Papoose Pond, and Joe Duemig of App My Community were also present to expound on topics concerning the outdoor hospitality industry.

The August 24 episode is sponsored by Campsot Software, a campground management platform both staff and guests love.

During each episode of MC Fireside Chats, viewers can hear from the guests who will dive deep into topics to help their business succeed.

Got questions? Watch live on August 24. Everyone is encouraged to join the conversation. The show will be streamed live on Facebook, YouTube, or LinkedIn.
