Idaho’s Huckleberry Campground Opens For Reservations

In the serene environment of St. Maries in Idaho, the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Huckleberry Campground has announced the opening of its seasonal reservation through September 3.

“We realize that the temporary pause for reservations last summer caused an inconvenience to campers, but it was necessary to allow for the construction of the updated electrical system,” Ray Pease, Coeur d’Alene field manager, said in a press release.

The campground also underwent a significant upgrade to its electrical system, enhancing the camping experience for visitors. This modernization effort now allows the campground to provide 50-amp service to accommodate modern recreational vehicles (RVs), marking an essential improvement in the infrastructure and services offered to campers.

“We are excited to provide an even better camping experience for Huckleberry visitors and to showcase the natural beauty that the area has to offer, ” Pease added.

People can check the seasonal reservation system through www.Recreation.gov. This update comes after a temporary pause in reservations last summer, which was necessary to facilitate the construction and upgrade of the campground’s electrical system.

The upgrade to a 50-amp service is a response to the evolving needs of campers who bring modern RVs equipped with various electronic devices and amenities. This improvement ensures that the campground can cater to the demands of contemporary outdoor enthusiasts, providing a more comfortable and convenient stay.

Huckleberry Campground boasts 33 campsites, including 30 standard sites and three group sites. Each standard site is equipped with paved parking, potable water, electricity, a picnic table, and a campfire ring, catering to the needs of both tent campers and RV enthusiasts

In addition, recreational opportunities abound at Huckleberry Campground. Guests can indulge in RV camping, fishing, and wildlife viewing, with the campground’s proximity to Forest Service lands offering endless exploration possibilities. The riverfront location is ideal for those looking to connect with nature, whether through a peaceful day of fishing or simply enjoying the scenic views

The Huckleberry Campground’s location amidst the picturesque landscapes of St. Maries offers a unique camping experience. Visitors should plan their trips early due to the influx of guests at the campground. For more information about the campground, visitors can check at 877-444-6777.
