The Fort Lions Club in Alberta is organizing a grand opening for the expanded Turner Park Campground, according to a report.
The expansion of the campground in the heart of Turner Park has finally pushed through after eight years of trying. According to the report, the expansion was finally completed last year.
The campground will hold its grand opening and open house celebration on June 10, where a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held around noon. Anyone can join the event for free and enjoy hot dogs, cupcakes, and cold drinks.
Don Westman, treasurer of the Fort Lions Club, said that the event will be a good opportunity to highlight local businesses—many of which are volunteering to help cater for the event.
“The best thing about it all is because it’s run by the Lions Club; every dollar that goes in there goes back in the community.”
Turner Park Campground is situated near the North Saskatchewan River.
