JetCamp has expanded its campground booking platform into the United States and Canada, adding nearly 34,000 North American campground, RV park, glamping and resort listings to its site.
The expansion brings 30,500 properties in the United States and 3,500 in Canada into a platform that already lists 24,000 properties across Europe.
The North American expansion connects those listings with JetCamp’s existing European inventory and is aimed in part at travelers seeking RV and road-trip vacations between the two markets.
Germany, France, Spain, Italy and the Benelux countries are among JetCamp’s key European markets.
JetCamp said more than 1 million people use the platform for inspiration and information during busy months before eventually booking trips. The company said its combined European and North American inventory makes it the world’s largest campground booking site.
The platform uses a hybrid booking model that includes properties available for direct online booking through property-management systems, channel managers or tour operators, as well as properties bookable through third-party affiliate partnerships.
North American partners include Campspot, Booking.com, Expedia and RVshare, with Recreation.gov expected to be added. JetCamp said it plans to add more property-management system integrations as part of its North American expansion.
Properties can be listed on JetCamp at no cost, with the free listing offering unlimited image display and automated text generation in 15 languages. The company also offers paid options including blog inclusion, priority listings and advertising.
JetCamp said its platform provides property descriptions, map displays and aggregated review scores. It also said the site does not use intrusive display advertising or hidden booking fees and provides customer support through WhatsApp.
Since its soft launch in North America, JetCamp said it has recorded double-digit visitor growth.
Other planned developments for the region include a JetCamp app for iPhone and Android, a host tool and a new cooperation with an RV company.
JetCamp was founded in 2019 by Erwin Hoevenaar and Roderik Verburg, both former Thomas Cook employees.
