RVIA Schedules Fifth All-Industry Volunteer Day at Elkhart County Fairgrounds

The RV Industry Association’s (RVIA) Sustainability Committee will host its fifth annual All-Industry Volunteer Day on May 20 at the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds in Goshen, Indiana, bringing together industry participants for a full day of park improvement projects.

The event will focus on restoration and enhancement work across the fairgrounds’ recreation and campground facilities, continuing a multi-year initiative aimed at supporting public outdoor spaces.

Volunteers from across the RV industry are expected to participate in organized work shifts throughout the day.

According to a News and Insights report of RVIA on March 31,  participants can register for full-day involvement or select from three scheduled shifts: 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Most of the project work will take place during the first two shifts, with the final shift dedicated to finishing tasks and cleanup efforts.

The initiative, originally developed by the Emerging Leaders Coalition, has transitioned into a permanent program under the association’s Sustainability Committee. The shift reflects the coalition’s role in developing leadership-focused programs that are later integrated into broader organizational efforts.

Since its launch in 2022, the volunteer program has completed projects at multiple Indiana locations, including Potato Creek State Park, Ox Bow County Park, Chain O’Lakes State Park, and Bonneyville Mill County Park.

Work at these sites has included infrastructure repairs, construction of park amenities, removal of invasive species, and general improvements to public-use areas.

The program has received recognition for its contributions. In 2024, the Emerging Leaders Coalition earned the National Association of State Park Directors President’s Award for its volunteer efforts supporting Indiana State Parks.

The inaugural 2022 project at Potato Creek State Park also received a Partnership Award from Indiana State Parks in 2023, recognizing collaboration between community organizations and park properties.

The association is also accepting sponsorships for the 2026 event, with proceeds supporting project execution and volunteer coordination.
