Campendium Launches RV PRO Membership With RV-Safe Routing, Campground Alerts and Trip Planning Tools

Campendium has launched Campendium RV PRO, a new premium annual membership that adds trip-planning, navigation and campground availability tools for RV travelers while maintaining free access to its campground database and review platform.

The launch comes as RV travel continues to attract significant participation, with more than 52 million North American households camping in 2025, according to data cited from KOA’s 2025 Camping & Outdoor Hospitality Report.

Campendium said its free platform, which includes more than 50,000 campgrounds across the United States, Canada and Mexico and more than 150,000 verified reviews, will remain available at no cost.

The new RV PRO membership is designed to address challenges commonly faced by RV travelers, including sold-out campgrounds, route restrictions, limited cellular service and changing road conditions.

Among the new features is CAMPalerts, a text notification system that alerts users when campsites become available at previously sold-out campgrounds, including sites in national parks.

The membership also includes Autopilot, a trip-planning tool built using data from 42 million RV trips. According to Campendium, users enter a destination and the system generates a route.

Another feature, RV-Safe Navigation, creates routes based on a user’s RV specifications, including vehicle height, weight and propane status. The tool is intended to help travelers avoid low-clearance routes, weight-restricted roads and tunnels with propane restrictions.

Campendium RV PRO also offers map overlays that provide information such as real-time traffic conditions, carrier-specific cell coverage, public land boundaries and wildfire smoke along a route.

The company said offline maps are planned for a future release. The feature will allow members to download route and campground information for use in areas with limited or no cellular connectivity.

“The best RV trips feel effortless, but every RVer knows how much planning happens behind the scenes,” Mary Heneen, CEO of Campendium, said in a press release.

“Too often, that planning starts to feel like work — checking sold-out campgrounds, second-guessing the route, wondering if your rig will fit, or losing service right when you need it. With Campendium RV PRO, we’re taking on more of that work for RVers by finding openings, building smarter routes, and surfacing the right information at the right time, so they can travel with more confidence and spend more time enjoying the road,” Heneen added.

Campendium said RV PRO is available immediately and includes a free trial with membership. The company said its platform serves a community of 750,000 RVers and provides campground discovery, trip-planning resources and user-generated reviews across North America.
