Zone RV Administration Sparks Record Search Surge, Crusader and Opus See Strong Gains

Zone RV’s entry into voluntary administration in December triggered a surge in consumer interest, propelling the brand to second place in Australia’s recreational vehicle search rankings, according to Retain Media’s Q4 2025 RV Market Brand Consideration Report.

The report, based on more than 2.7 million search queries, highlights how administration events can sharply influence market attention while established brands navigate ongoing competitive pressures.

Zone RV captured 4.6% of total search share in Q4, a 142.1% relative increase from 1.9% in Q3. “The manufacturer’s entry into voluntary administration in December 2025 drove unprecedented search interest. The brand owes creditors approximately $42 million, leaving roughly 150 customers without their completed caravans and putting deposits at risk,” a press release states.

Crusader Caravans achieved its strongest quarterly performance of the year, rising 16.3% in the RVMAP category from 8.0% to 9.3% and 12.1% overall from 3.3% to 3.7%. Opus Camper also posted the largest gains in the Imported segment, climbing 29.4% from 8.5% to 11.0% and securing fifth position nationally.

Jayco maintained overall market leadership with 23.6% search share, though this represents a 0.8% relative decline from Q3 and a continued softening from 26.1% in Q1. Dreamhaven Caravans showed significant growth in the Australian-made segment, jumping from 0.3% to 1.5%, a 400% increase that placed the brand in the top 15.

Other notable performers included Market Direct (MDC), which grew 8.0% in RVMAP and 4.9% overall, Snowy River Caravans (+7.1% RVMAP, +2.5% overall), and Patriot Campers (+25.0% RVMAP, +20.0% overall).

Meanwhile, several established brands experienced declines, including Royal Flair Caravans (-14.8% RVMAP), Windsor RVs (-8.3% RVMAP), and Essential Caravans (-18.2% RVMAP).

“Q4 2025 marked a dramatic quarter for Australia’s RV market, with Zone RV’s administration driving unprecedented search interest that temporarily overshadowed commercial momentum,” Brian Sullivan, director at Retain Media, said in a press release.

“Beyond the crisis-driven spike, the quarter revealed sustained competitive shifts, with Crusader Caravans and Opus Camper delivering exceptional growth whilst established players experienced notable corrections,” Sullivan added.

The full report provides insights across five categories for 137 brands and more than 12,300 keywords.
