The second day of the Glamping Show Americas will feature sessions focused on business growth, experiential design, brand development and strategies for launching and scaling glamping operations with limited capital.
The Sept. 30 program at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds in Aurora, Colorado, will open with Derry Green of Secret Garden Glamping discussing the development of his business from a single backyard glamping unit into a multi-million-pound brand.
Green’s session, “From Back Garden to a Multi-Million-Dollar Franchise Brand… Lessons from The Secret Garden Glamping,” will cover the company’s development following a viral post, a television appearance and expansion into wellness and the U.S. market. The session is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
At 10:30 a.m., Travis Chambers of Outpost X will lead “Viral Stays Design” – How to Build a Project That Markets Itself. The session will examine how hospitality projects can use distinctive design and guest experiences to generate attention without relying heavily on paid marketing campaigns.
Chambers’ session will focus on designing accommodations and destinations around visual and experiential elements intended to encourage visitors to share their experiences.
Janice Wilson of Menizei will present “Designing the Hospitality Unicorn: How Destinations Become a Category of One” from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The session will examine the role of amenities, average daily rate and destination perception in differentiating hospitality properties.
The event’s details state that many operators build within established categories such as glamping, nature resorts, wellness retreats and landscape hotels, while the session will examine how destinations can establish distinct positioning.
The day will conclude with “Profit Without the Price Tag: Low-Budget Strategies to Launch and Scale Your Glamping Business,” presented by Halley Fleming of Ozark Mountain Adventure from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The session will focus on approaches for small operators to launch and scale through free resources, local assets, creative positioning and other strategies that do not require significant capital investment.
The Glamping Show Americas runs Sept. 29-30 and features more than 150 exhibitors from the outdoor hospitality sector. The show floor includes suppliers covering furnishings, off-grid technology, booking software and wellness amenities, along with yurts, safari tents and tiny homes available for attendees to view in person.
