Wisconsin Lakefront Campgrounds Enhance Water-Based Attractions for Ultimate Family Fun

Wisconsin’s scenic lakefront campgrounds are taking outdoor recreation to the next level by adding a variety of innovative water-based attractions.

From traditional paddle boats and kayaks to modern inflatable climbing structures and water slides, these campgrounds ensure that visitors of all ages can make a splash during their stay.

The increasing popularity of water activities has prompted campground operators to invest in new, interactive features to keep up with demand.

As per a release, campgrounds across the state are introducing floating trampolines, climbing structures, and even splash grounds and waterparks to cater to a broad range of preferences.

One standout example is the Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in the Wisconsin Dells, which offers a water playground with 25 water features, such as dumping buckets, water cannons, and waterslides. Visitors can also rent kayaks, rafts, and canoes on the historic Mirror Lake.

Lori Severson, executive director of the Wisconsin Association of Campground Owners (WACO), notes that the range and quality of water activities at Wisconsin’s campgrounds continue to improve.

The association’s travel planning website, WisconsinCampgrounds.com, highlights the diverse offerings available to visitors.

Wisconsin campgrounds offer literally everything from lake fishing, canoeing and kayaking to house-boating on the backwaters of the Mississippi River. Growing numbers of Wisconsin campgrounds are also equipping their lakes and ponds with inflatable floating trampolines and climbing structures, which are great fun not only for adolescents and teens, but for their parents, too,” Severson said, adding, “Some even have their own waterparks with interactive play structures.”

Some campgrounds are taking it a step further by adding houseboat rentals for guests who want to explore the Mississippi River. This unique experience allows visitors to venture out on the water and immerse themselves in the beauty of the surrounding area.

The variety of water attractions available at Wisconsin campgrounds caters to every interest, from those seeking a leisurely day of fishing to thrill-seekers looking for an adrenaline rush on a water slide. As campground operators continue to innovate and expand their offerings, visitors can look forward to even more engaging and exciting water-based activities in the future.

Ultimately, the evolution of Wisconsin’s lakefront campgrounds showcases the dedication of the state’s outdoor recreation industry’s commitment to creating memorable experiences for families and adventure-seekers alike. With an ever-growing selection of water attractions, these campgrounds are sure to make a splash with visitors for years to come.
