Wisconsin Campgrounds Experience Busy Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day usually symbolizes the end of summer, and for many campgrounds in the Chippewa Valley (Wisconsin), the season ended with an extremely busy weekend.

As per a report, Tia Anderson, the general manager of the Stoney Creek RV Resort located in Osseo, said that all 233 sites at the family-owned and operated campground were booked to capacity this Labor Day weekend. This includes spots RV, cabins, tents, and cottages.

Anderson said they’ve been booked for every weekend this summer however, to date, they’ve seen more guests stay on weekdays.

The pandemic has also brought fresh faces to the resort.

“I think my favorite part is the people,” Anderson said.

“We get a lot of great campers that are here with us all summer or just for the weekend. We see a lot of families and that’s kind of the best part for us. Not only can we work with our family, but we get to spend time with other families outside in the nice weather.”

Families also enjoyed the man-made lake as well as inflatables. Stoney Creek is open through mid-October.

Several other campgrounds located in the Chippewa Valley also reported that they were fully booked this Labor Day weekend as well. Some even claimed that they were fully booked for this weekend since late June.

I wonder how the increase in visitors affected the overall experience. Many campgrounds are prioritizing safety measures for visitors.
