Spartan RV Chassis today introduced the Spartan Premier Drive, a single, comprehensive, and proprietary chassis system explicitly designed for Class A RV luxury motorcoaches, engineered to provide the best ride quality.
Previewed at the Newmar Annual Dealer meeting in April, the Premier Drive system, complete with the all-new Independent Front Suspension )IFS), will make its debut at the 2022 Entegra Coach Diesel Owners’ Homecoming event on May 17 to 20 at the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds in Goshen, Indiana.
The Premier Drive system is a fully integrated collection of advanced chassis technologies. From end to end, each element is designed to absorb bumps on the road, according to a press release.
“We know Luxury RV owners invest a lot of time and money into their motorcoaches, so we’ve designed each element of the Premier Drive system from the ground up to deliver the best ride quality possible,” said Steve Guillaume, president, Shyft Group Specialty Vehicles.
The new IFS also provides drivers with advanced agility, maneuverability, and improved bump absorption through custom-built, high-performance shocks explicitly built for motorhome use. Drivers can also experience better steering control under any road condition, while the 55-degree wheel cut creates exceptional maneuverability.
The IFS features the air disc brake system, resisting fades, and adding stopping power while dressing stopping distance for greater driver safety.
“With every new innovation, driver safety and comfort is our number one priority,” said Guillaume. “Our new independent front suspension went through rigorous testing by highly trained engineers and experienced motorcoach drivers to ensure that every passenger feels comfortable, and every driver feels in control, ready to take to the road with confidence.”
The Premier Drive system has a robust frame and cross member system for the Class A Diesel industry, providing a solid and premium structure. Its rear suspension ensures the back of the coach is stable for smoother and more comfortable driving, even on uneven terrain, unpredictable roads, and windy conditions.
The Spartan RV Chassis torsion control system removes the force against the coach suspension, reducing stress on the chassis frame. It makes it a more durable, long-lasting chassis and less twisting for an improved stable riding experience.
The advanced tag axle enhances the turn radius with a best-in-class 17º wheel cut while evenly distributing the coach’s weight. It provides a smoother, softer-feeling ride while improving the driver’s confidence in tight turning situations.
The E-Z Steer technology allows the driver to adjust the steering to the most comfortable level in different driving conditions, reducing fatigue and improving driving enjoyment.
