High Pines RV Park, now owned by Jack and Debbie Knapp, is set to begin a series of facility upgrades. The improvements will focus on upgrading 50 to 60 pull-through sites with new electric pedestals providing 50/30/20 amp service, sewer hookups, and fresh gravel.
These enhancements will bring the park’s full hookup site total to 80, further enhancing the experience for RV travelers. Work is scheduled to begin in early October, with the weather and available funds dictating the pace of the upgrades. Despite the construction, the park will remain open as the renovations are confined to the far edge of the property.
The Knapps, who took ownership of the park earlier this year, are committed to enhancing the park’s infrastructure to meet the needs of modern RV travelers. Jack explained, “Contractors are all set to begin digging in early October, and we will get as far as we can with the weather and funds available.”
In addition to the electrical and sewer improvements, High Pines RV Park recently added high-speed Wi-Fi across all its sites, catering to the growing demand for connectivity.
According to Jack, the decision to invest in Wi-Fi came after receiving guest feedback. “We had planned to build a large dog run, but after speaking with many of our guests and listening to their feedback about all the wide open grass spaces we have for them to walk and play with their dogs, we decided to install the high-speed Wi-Fi instead.”
“The guest feedback on the Wi-Fi has been amazing,” Jack added. He also highlighted that the addition allows guests to stay connected for leisure or work while enjoying the park’s natural surroundings. “Monthly guests and campers who work from home or have to stay connected have loved this addition and are very glad we did that instead of the dog run.”
The upgrades are part of a larger investment plan by the Knapps, who have made several improvements since taking over the park. In addition to infrastructure upgrades, they have revamped the park’s website, introduced online reservations, and launched a mobile app. The app, available for Android and iOS devices, offers guests information about nearby attractions, restaurants, and park amenities.
“Adding the park APP was a massive undertaking, but the guests have been open to it, and many comments about how they have been able to find ‘so many area attractions and restaurants by using it,’ Debbie said.
The Knapps also focus on creating a unique guest experience by highlighting the local area’s attractions and resources. Located directly on Route 219, High Pines RV Park has become a popular stop for travelers, including foreign guests and snowbirds.
“We did not expect to have so many foreign guests, but being located directly on Route 219 and the main travel to/from Niagara Falls from the US has brought many snowbirds and foreign guests looking for a quiet, safe place to catch up on some rest before continuing their journey,” Debbie noted.
