MC Fireside Chats is set to close out the month with another informative and entertaining episode focusing on the RV and outdoor recreation industry on February 22, 2023.
Hosts Brian Searl and Cara Csizmadia will be joined once again by long-time friends of the show: RVDA of Canada President Eleanore Hamm; Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association Executive Director Shane Devenish; National Parks Traveler’s Kurt Repanshek; and the RV Women’s Alliance’s Susan Carpenter.

Host Brian Searl was joined by recurring guests Mike Harrison from CRR Lifestyle and Joe Duemig of App My Community, as well as special guests New Jersey Campground Owners and Outdoor Lodging Association Executive Director Joann Delvescio and Harvest Hosts CEO Joel Holland.
Delvescio and the rest of the panel talked about the upcoming 32nd Annual Campground Owner Conference & Trade Show which will take place in Orlando, Florida, from February 27 to March 1, 2023.
Like other trade shows, it serves as a great opportunity to network with both fellow business owners and suppliers. The guests later shared their experiences attending similarly themed trade shows and emphasized the importance of networking and communicating the value of one’s business through its products and services.
At the moment, the 32nd Annual Campground Owner Conference & Trade Show offers an early bird special registration offer of $250, which already includes access to 10 sessions, and is inclusive of lunch and dinner for both Monday and Tuesday.
They also mentioned other upcoming conferences like the Ohio Ocus, the Northeast Camping Association, the Waco Association of Campground Owners camp Michigan, and the California Outdoor Hospitality Association, all happening around springtime.
Holland, who found success with Harvest Hosts, introduced his latest endeavor CampersCard—a free listing platform that offers free marketing for campgrounds while providing RVers with discounts and perks for their bookings. Holland mentioned that the team is currently developing a new website that will launch with the product by April of this year.
With this, the group discussed the challenges of finding the right balance between marketing and spamming. The experts mentioned that providing additional value such as offering perks and discounts tailored to individual campgrounds is a great way to enhance marketing.
As target demographics gain higher disposable incomes, all while becoming more discerning when it comes to amenities, the guests agreed that business owners need to be more flexible and accommodating towards their guests.
And for the guests, this is why it is important for business owners to continue attending learning and networking opportunities like trade shows to gain a better idea of potential initiatives and tie-ups they could do to entice guests to book and return.
