The RV Industry Association (RVIA) is encouraging manufacturer member companies to take advantage of code and safety training opportunities offered through its Standards Department, with virtual and in-person sessions designed to support compliance with industry safety requirements.
According to a News and Insights report of RVIA, the training covers key safety codes and regulations, including National Fire Protection Association 1192 and the National Electric Code.
Sessions can be conducted remotely or at a member company’s facility, allowing manufacturers to choose the format that best fits their operations.
The association said the training is intended for a wide range of manufacturing personnel, including production line workers, quality control employees, plant managers and group leaders.
The educational programs are designed to help participants better understand and apply safety standards throughout the manufacturing process.
The Standards Department also oversees compliance with construction standards adopted by the RV Industry Association Board of Directors for recreational vehicles and Park Model RVs.
The department’s team of full-time professional inspectors conducts more than 2,000 inspections annually at member company RV manufacturing plants to monitor adherence to those standards and promote safety.
Manufacturer member companies interested in scheduling a virtual or on-site training session can contact Bryan Ritchie, the RV Industry Association’s vice president of Standards, according to the association.
The training opportunities are part of its broader effort to provide technical education and compliance resources to manufacturer members responsible for producing RVs and Park Model RVs.
