Heartland RV will debut its 20th-anniversary edition of the Bighorn fifth wheel at the Elkhart RV Dealer Open House from September 23-25. This celebration introduces two new floorplans, the double-suite 392DS, and the 391MFB, with a front bath option, designed to offer dealers a firsthand look at the enhanced features.
For two decades, the Bighorn has been recognized for delivering luxury, comfort, and value, making it a “top choice among seasonal and full-time campers.” The 20th-anniversary models build on that reputation by incorporating updated designs while maintaining the “spacious” layouts defining the brand. Heartland initially plans to launch four floorplans, with an additional model expected by 2025.
Tim Markel, director of sales at Heartland RV, emphasized the importance of innovation and quality in the updated Bighorn line. “Bighorn has always been a favorite among those who love life on the road or escape south for the winter. After taking a brief break from production, we took the opportunity to completely redefine the Bighorn brand,” Markel said.
The 20th-anniversary Bighorn models boast features designed for comfort and ease of use in various environments. Key elements include a 35,000 BTU furnace, an LED fireplace generating 5,000 BTUs of heat, and an advanced air conditioning system for enhanced cooling and airflow. The 380-watt solar package provides renewable energy for extended trips, while a tankless water heater delivers up to 144 gallons of hot water per hour.
To enhance the towing experience, the new Bighorn models have Goodyear Endurance tires, a tire-pressure monitoring system, and a “high-performance” suspension system. A Helux upgraded coil spring pin box and a Titan six-point hydraulic leveling system further simplify setup and improve stability at campsites. The models also feature a Stor-Mor storage compartment for added convenience.
Aesthetic and functional improvements include a tinted black glass entry door, tinted frameless windows, and step-above folding steps for secure entry. The aerodynamic front cap is fitted with an LED light bar and the “largest windshield” in the industry, while underframe lighting creates a welcoming glow after dark.
Inside, the Bighorn features pet-friendly ductless floors, 76-inch tall slide ceilings, and flush-floor slides. Hardwood cabinetry and LED lighting create a warm and inviting atmosphere, while premium furniture adds a touch of luxury to the living areas. The models also include a 55-inch smart TV and ceiling-mounted Bluetooth speakers, ideal for entertainment during extended stays.
Heartland RV’s focus on innovation also extends to the bedroom and bathroom. The king-sized bed is complemented by a spacious wardrobe, washer/dryer prep, and smart TV. The upper deck staircase doubles as shoe storage. In the bathroom, a one-piece fiberglass shower, porcelain toilet, and solid surface countertops create a luxurious space.
In the kitchen, the 20th-anniversary Bighorn models offer a 16 cu. ft. 12V refrigerator, a full-length pantry, and a copper sink with a pullout faucet.
