Ark Media Group has completed an aerial photography project covering 70 campsites across the United Kingdom for The Camping and Caravanning Club, with the images set to support the organization’s marketing activities and online presence.
The project began in early August and involved Ark’s film crew traveling from Cornwall in southwest England to the Scottish Highlands. The team used multiple drones to capture aerial photographs of each campsite, highlighting the properties’ layouts, scale, and surrounding landscapes.
The photographs will be incorporated into marketing materials and published on The Camping and Caravanning Club’s website to help prospective customers evaluate its campsites when planning trips. The project gives the organization additional visual content to present its locations to potential visitors, including campers who may be comparing destinations based on scenery, site layout, and access to nearby natural attractions.
All members of Ark’s production crew involved in the project are approved drone operators under the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The use of multiple drones supported the nationwide assignment, which required the team to coordinate photography across sites in different parts of the country within a limited timeframe.
The project also extends an existing working relationship between Ark Media Group and The Camping and Caravanning Club. The production company has previously created promotional videos for the organization, and the latest assignment expands that collaboration into aerial photography across a broader selection of its campsites.
Graham Allsopp, managing director at Ark Media Group, said in a news release: “We are thrilled to build on our long-standing relationship with The Camping and Caravanning Club.
“A nationwide drone shoot of this scale requires precision planning and seamless coordination across our team.
“Capturing these beautiful locations from the air gives prospective campers a completely fresh perspective of what the sites have to offer.”
Rob Ganley, head of creative and publishing at The Camping and Caravanning Club, said the organization selected Ark for the assignment based on its experience working with the company on previous video projects.
“Having successfully worked with Ark Media Group on a number of video projects in recent years, we were confident the team would step up to the challenge of capturing aerial footage of our campsites across the UK within a tight timeframe.
“Huge credit to Ark for handling this complex brief with professionalism and energy, and the results so far look fantastic.”
For campground operators and other outdoor hospitality businesses, the project illustrates how aerial photography can support the presentation of a property’s physical features. Images captured from above can help prospective guests understand campsite layouts, the distribution of pitches, surrounding landscapes, and the relationship between accommodations and shared facilities. This may be particularly useful for destinations offering a mix of touring pitches, tent camping, and other accommodation options.
However, the value of aerial imagery depends on how accurately it represents the guest experience. Operators considering similar projects may benefit from combining drone photography with ground-level images of amenities, facilities, access routes, and individual accommodations. Together, these formats can provide prospective visitors with a more complete picture of a property before booking.
The Camping and Caravanning Club’s project covers 70 campsites, although the organization and Ark Media Group have not disclosed the project’s cost, the number of images produced, or a publication schedule for the completed photography.
