The Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA) has announced a comprehensive rebranding initiative. The organization will soon begin operating under the name Family RV Association, a change that aims to better encapsulate its mission of supporting and welcoming owners of all types of RVs. This decision was made by the FMCA Governing Board during its annual meeting on August 14, 2024.
The rebranding effort goes beyond a mere name change. The association is currently developing a new logo to complement its revised identity and planning a strategic rollout of the new brand.
Founded in 1963, FMCA has long been a cornerstone of the RV community, fostering connections among enthusiasts. A pivotal moment came when the association expanded its membership to include owners of towable RVs, signaling a broader embrace of the RV lifestyle.
By retaining the word “Family” in its new name, the association maintains a connection to its core values and heritage. For members, “Family” transcends its conventional meaning, encompassing the entire community of RV owners. Many members have forged deep bonds with fellow enthusiasts, creating a unique family spanning across the country.
According to a press release, FMCA National President Gary Milner expressed enthusiasm about the rebranding, stating, “We are excited to begin a new adventure as Family RV Association. For 60-plus years, FMCA – now Family RV Association – has been helping RVers to form incredible connections with fellow RV travelers. We want to make sure all RV owners are aware of the wonderful opportunities and benefits membership brings. Adopting a name that better describes our community makes perfect sense.”
Family RV Association is dedicated to recreation vehicle (RV) owners, with its national headquarters located in Cincinnati, Ohio. The association currently boasts nearly 120,000 active members who benefit from a range of services tailored to enhance their RVing experience.
Members receive a subscription to the bimonthly magazine Family RVing, as well as access to a medical emergency and travel assistance program valued at $200 per family. Additional benefits include a tire purchasing program, group rates on roadside assistance, RV and auto insurance, health insurance, discounted rates for RV tours and caravans, and savings on mobile internet access plans.
