In the heart of Gloucestershire’s Forest of Dean, Whitemead Forest Park unveiled a new attraction for pet owners and their furry companions. The holiday destination recently opened its first pet-friendly cafe and indoor area. The Wild Boar Coffee cafe, located in a newly restored building at the park’s center, offers a welcoming space for guests to relax with their four-legged friends.
This new addition complements Whitemead’s existing pet-friendly amenities, including a doggy playpark launched last year. The park offers a range of pet-suitable accommodations, from log cabins and glamping pods to lodges and apartments, capable of housing up to eight people.
The cafe’s design incorporates both indoor and outdoor patio seating, with water bowls and dog biscuit bowls strategically placed throughout the area. Visitors can enjoy a variety of menu items, including toasties, paninis, and cakes, along with an assortment of beverages such as coffee, tea, and soft drinks.
Mandy Watkins, general manager at Whitemead Forest Park, expressed enthusiasm for the new cafe, stating, “We are thrilled to unveil this brand-new space for pets and their owners to enjoy together. We hope Wild Boar Coffee café will improve the experience for all guests bringing their pets to Whitemead, providing the perfect place for visitors to kick back and relax with all the family, including their four-legged friends.”
Beyond pet-friendly features, Whitemead Forest Park boasts an array of on-site facilities. Visitors can enjoy amenities including a swimming pool, spa pools, sauna, steam room, gym, restaurant, bar, and children’s activities.
To celebrate the new cafe and encourage visitors, Whitemead has launched an autumn sale. Guests can book a four-night mid-week break in a Premier Apartment starting from £64 per night, with a total price of £319 for stays between November 1 and 29. This offer is available for bookings made by September 9, when the autumn sale concludes.
