Bailey of Bristol, a British motorhome brand, became the first caravan manufacturer in the UK to receive the Ford Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM) status for coach-built motorhomes.
The company had to prove it could deliver high-quality products that meet Ford’s strict engineering, manufacturing, and quality control standards to achieve the status, according to a report.
It also had to demonstrate that its vehicles follow Ford’s Body and Equipment Mounting (BEM) guidelines, describing the standard to which the conversion should be carried out.
“Our partnership with Ford has proved very successful to date, and the awarding of QVM status really cements that relationship,” said Bailey Managing Director Nick Howard.
“Confirmation that we are building our Adamo models to Ford’s required vehicle conversion standards reaffirms our pedigree as a coach-built motorhome manufacturer and provides additional piece of mind to prospective customers.”
The QVM accreditation audit undertaken by Ford ensures that Bailey not only meets the required production standards but also offers a comprehensive customer support program, including product performance data analysis and a warranty package comparable with that already provided on the Ford base vehicle.
Audits will continue to take place regularly to ensure the necessary standards remain maintained.
Introduced in 2020, the Bailey Adamo is the main motorhome series the company has built on a Ford vehicle: the Transit Metallic Silver cab.
