The RV Industry Association’s (RVIA) Standards team has released materials from its May 21 standards seminar and scheduled a virtual question-and-answer session for June 23 to address changes affecting recreational vehicle standards.
More than 70 people attended the seminar, held at the Lerner Theatre, where the Standards team reviewed updates to the 2026 NFPA 1192, 2026 NEC 70 and the 2025 Standard for DC Voltage Systems in Recreational Vehicles.
According to a News and Insights report of RVIA on June 18, the session also covered the 2025 ANSI 119.5 and the 2023 Z240 standards.
A PDF version of the seminar slideshow has been made available, along with a document containing questions raised during the event and responses provided by the Standards team.
The materials are intended to help industry participants better understand the revisions and their implications.
According to the association, the reorganization of NFPA 1192 and the Standard for DC Voltage Systems resulted in numerous sections being relocated, creating challenges for users attempting to compare older and newer editions.
To assist with those changes, the Standards team developed an Excel-based tool that identifies corresponding section numbers between editions.
Users can enter either a 2021 or 2026 NFPA 1192 section number, and the spreadsheet displays the matching section from the alternate version.
The tool includes a separate section dedicated to the Standard for DC Voltage Systems.
The Standards team also plans to host a virtual question-and-answer session featuring standards experts. The webinar is scheduled for June 23 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern Time.
The online event is intended to provide participants with an opportunity to seek clarification on changes covered during the May seminar and discuss questions related to the revised standards.
Registration is open for those interested in participating in the June 23 webinar.
The event, titled “2026 Q&A With Standards Experts,” will bring together members of the RV Industry Association Standards team to address questions from participants during the two-hour session.
