OHI Names Tristan Ciceri to National Electrical Code Panel Representing Campgrounds and RV Parks

OHI announced that Tristan Ciceri, president of Electrical Works, has been named to the National Electrical Code’s Code-Making Panel 7 (NEC-P07), where he will represent RV parks, campgrounds and glamping businesses on electrical code matters affecting the outdoor hospitality sector.

Ciceri succeeds Wade Elliott, founder of Utility Supply Group, who served on the panel for more than a decade after being nominated by OHI. The association selected Ciceri following Elliott’s announcement last year that he would retire from the NEC board role.

According to OHI, NEC-P07 is the governing body responsible for overseeing electrical code provisions related to RV parks, campgrounds, marinas and manufactured homes. The association has historically nominated individuals with expertise in campground electrical systems to represent the outdoor hospitality industry on the panel.

Electrical Works is a family-owned electrical contracting company that specializes in the design, construction and rewiring of electrical systems for outdoor hospitality properties across the United States.

In a statement, Ciceri said his appointment comes at a significant time for the industry as Ground Monitor Interrupters, or GMIs, are expected to begin appearing in new RVs next year.

“I am honored to be representing the outdoor hospitality industry and grateful to have been nominated by OHI, especially during such an important time,” Ciceri said. “As Ground Monitor Interrupters (GMI) begin to show up in new RVs next year, it is especially important that our industry has representation on the NEC.”

Ciceri said he has worked with OHI to help educate campground operators and other industry stakeholders about the issue and plans to continue those efforts while serving on the panel.

The appointment comes as OHI continues to focus on industry education regarding the potential impact of GMIs on campground electrical systems.

Ciceri is scheduled to join David Basler, OHI’s chief strategy officer and senior vice president of government affairs, and OHI board member Raf Correa at the RV Industry Association’s RVs Move America event in Washington, D.C., next week.

“It is important that campgrounds across the country be paying attention to the GMI issue, so it does not cause disruption at their park,” Basler said. “Which is why OHI has been focused on educating the outdoor hospitality industry about this issue, in partnership with RVIA and our rep on the NEC-P07, the issue was first discussed publicly by NEC back in 2020.”
