Campgrounds, RV parks and glamping resorts across Texas are urging travelers to book Memorial Day weekend reservations early as availability remains open for campsites, cabins and alternative lodging options, according to a press release from the Texas Association of Campground Owners (TACO).
The holiday weekend is among the busiest periods for the outdoor hospitality sector, prompting operators statewide to encourage advance bookings while inventory remains.
“Memorial Day weekend one of the biggest camping weekends of the year,” said Brian Schaeffer, executive director and CEO of TACO.
Schaeffer said a growing number of campgrounds are expanding their accommodation mix to include glamping units, reducing the need for travelers to bring their own equipment.
“Growing numbers of Texas campgrounds are also adding glamping accommodations, so you don’t even need a tent or RV to camp,” Schaeffer added.

The press release is also emphasizing amenity-driven experiences to attract guests, with offerings that include swimming pools, fitness centers, fishing access and river-based recreation such as tubing.
Several parks across the state reported availability heading into the holiday period, spanning both traditional RV sites and alternative lodging.
Fredericksburg RV Park offers pull-through RV sites and amenities including a clubhouse, gym and private bathrooms. Mystic Quarry in Canyon Lake combines RV and tent sites with furnished cabins, tipis and safari tents, along with recreational amenities such as a pool and game areas.
Coastal and riverfront destinations are also part of the available inventory. Pioneer Beach RV Resort in Port Aransas features RV sites and cabins with direct beach access, while Rio Guadalupe Resort in New Braunfels provides 64 RV campsites along a quarter mile stretch of the Guadalupe River, supporting activities such as tubing, fishing and kayaking.
Additional availability includes Summer Breeze USA RV Resort in Brookshire, a 33-acre property with 99 full-hookup RV sites and amenities such as a fitness center and fiber optic Wi-Fi, and Trader’s Village RV Park in Houston, which offers access to an adjacent flea market and entertainment venue.
The Vineyards RV Park in Fredericksburg also reported availability across its RV sites, cabins and covered wagons, supported by amenities including a pool, gym and outdoor recreation areas.
Schaeffer said suppliers are also supporting campground expansion, noting that companies such as Malakoff-based Platinum Cottages are providing fully furnished park-model cabins with kitchens, bathrooms and separate bedrooms to properties across the state.
