Unhitched Management has assumed management of the 165-site Houston/Med Center KOA Holiday in Houston, Texas, adding the RV community to the company’s growing portfolio and putting its operations under new management effective Jan. 1.
The company announced the management change Aug. 17, saying it now oversees day-to-day park operations, guest services and ongoing property enhancements at the campground, located at 2919 W. Orem Drive near the Texas Medical Center.
According to a press release, Unhitched Management CEO Robert Preston said the property serves guests visiting the area for medical stays, events and extended stays.
“Houston Med Center is all about restoration — a safe, clean, and friendly place to land whether you’re here for an event at NRG Stadium, an extended medical stay, or calling it home,” Preston said.
The company said immediate improvements will focus on curb appeal, common areas and guest communications.
Longer-term plans include upgraded amenities, landscaping and community programming.
Unhitched Management also said it will apply operational systems from its RV property portfolio to maintenance, reservation management and guest satisfaction at the Houston campground.
Houston/Med Center KOA Holiday has 165 sites, including pull-through RV sites with full 50-amp electric, water and sewer hookups, along with tent sites and cabins.
Amenities include a clubhouse, fitness center, heated pool, laundry facilities and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi.
Outdoor amenities include a fire pit and pergola, outdoor kitchen and grills, playground, putting green, stocked fishing pond and walking trail.
The property also has on-site storage and a complimentary shuttle van to the Texas Medical Center.
The campground is located south of downtown Houston with access to State Highway 288 and the 610 Loop.
Its location provides access to the Texas Medical Center, Museum District and NRG Park, according to the company.
Preston said Unhitched Management’s team has been working at the property since taking over operations.
“This park has built a loyal community just minutes from one of the most important medical centers in the country, and we’re honored to be trusted with its future,” Preston said.
“Our team has been on the ground from day one, investing in the guest experience and rebuilding relationships — because at Unhitched, taking care of each other comes first,” Preston added.
