Camp Fimfo Texas Hill Country, a camping resort located in New Braunfels, Texas, has been nominated in two categories for USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
The luxury campsite has been nominated for Best Luxury RV Resort and Best RV Campground, an impressive feat considering that it has only been open for less than two years.
The award nominations, however, are not Camp Fimfo’s first.
In Modern Campground’s email interview with Tessa McCrackin, chief marketing officer of Northgate Resorts, the company behind the Camp Fimfo brand, she noted that the brand has also been recognized as a finalist for the national ARVC Park of the Year award. Moreover, it has been named Best Glamping Destination for the Travel Awaits awards.
For the company, these recognitions on a national level have helped Camp Fimfo gain more exposure for similar awards.
Moreover, McCrackin shared that the nominations are a testament to the unique experience that they offer to their guests.
“Camp Fimfo Texas Hill Country has been open for less than 2 years, so for us, the nominations mean we’re doing something right! We’re continuing to expand and improve the property, so we’re confident that this is just the beginning!” she said.
Despite being a new brand of camping resorts, Camp Fimfo has quickly become a tradition for many Texas campers, the CMO said.
The nominated RV resort, Camp Fimfo Texas Hill Country, boasts 1,000 feet of river frontage and is a family-friendly campsite with monthly rates for those who want to make it a real home away from home.
The park accentuates the beauty of the Texas Hill Country and is known for its centrally located Red Carpet RV sites. Guests can choose back-in or pull-through sites, which have full hookups, a concrete pad, a charcoal grill, a picnic table, and a fire ring.
It also offers a variety of amenities and scheduled activities, making it an ideal destination for multi-generational travelers. Visitors can enjoy a heated pool, water playground, hot tubs, mini golf, waterslides, and pickleball courts.
When asked about the most popular amenities and activities at Camp Fimfo, McCrackin shared that their swim-up bar, the No Dive Bar, is definitely a highlight for campers. Additionally, their recently opened alpine coaster, The Cliff Carver, is the first of its kind in Texas and has quickly become a popular attraction.
“We really wanted to provide a unique camping experience for a new generation of campers. Our quirky branding is something that is seen and felt throughout the park, and we’re very intentional about even the smallest details,” McCrackin told Modern Campground.

Aside from providing a fun and memorable experience for their guests, Camp Fimfo is also taking steps to be environmentally conscious and sustainable. Although they currently do not have any specific projects to speak of yet, they are actively working on initiatives to reduce their environmental impact.
Currently, the luxury campground provides campers a link to its Guest Dashboard instead of printing out information such as activity schedule, hours of operation, park map, and other important reminders for campers.
