Private sectors are investing in a $15 million luxurious RV resort on Camp Road just outside West Monroe (Louisiana).
According to a report, the new RV resort will feature a lazy river, water slides, a splash pad, a kiddie pool, and an area for the adults.
RV resort president Ray Anding says they will also offer cabins to those who don’t have RVs.
The resort will be open to the public from Monday to Thursday and will be used as an RV camp on weekends. It covers 37 acres and could accommodate hundreds of RVs.
Ouachita Parish Police Jury Jack Clampit says it’s going to become a place where visitors can stay for up to a week.
$1.2 million of COVID relief funds will be utilized to repair and expand the sewer infrastructure within the area.
“It’s a 15 million dollar investment in Ouachita Parish,” Clampit said. “That’s a pretty good investment that we’re looking at. Look at the tourism that it’s going to bring to our area and recreation to our area. It’s a great project. It will be three phases, and each phase is about five million.”
“It will have a convenience store on Camp Rd with a restaurant in it. That’s part of the first phase. Then the second phase will be the water park. The third phase will be finishing out with approximately 180 to 200 RV spots,” Anding said.
Anding says that the RV resort will provide several employment opportunities for the local community.
It is anticipated to be open by the end of next year.
