A new campground opens in Irvona (Pennsylvania) tomorrow, April 22.
As per a report, Teddy Bear Campground is situated at 8125 Berwinsdale Road., Irvona.
Owner Theodore Gallaher said the campground has 15 sites with electricity.
“We are hoping to eventually get to 60 or 70 spots,” Gallaher said.
Wastewater connections are not available at each site. However, the campground does have a dumping station.
Establishing a campground on a huge piece of land came to Gallaher amid the pandemic.
My kids and I like camping, but it was so hard to find available camping during the pandemic unless you had booked it like a year ahead of time, so we decided to put in the sites ourselves.
The campground is located about 15 miles away from Prince Gallitzin State Park. It is also located close to various all-terrain vehicles trails and is close to the Rock Run Recreation Area, Patton.
Fishing enthusiasts can enjoy fishing as the campground is within walking distance of North Witmer stream. A play area for children is available, and pets are welcome.
Gallaher is currently working on a camp store which he hopes to complete soon.
