Yogi Bear’s Thumbcoast Jellystone Park Gears Up for Summer with New Water Attractions

Yogi Bear’s Thumbcoast Jellystone Park (also known as Jellystone Park at North Port Huron) in Michigan is gearing up for an exciting summer by introducing a new multilevel splash pad, a pair of two-story water slides, and other upgrades.

Located five minutes north of Port Sanilac, the park is situated less than two hours from Detroit and just 90 minutes from the Greater Tri-Cities area.  According to a press release, the new splash pad and water slides are set to open in June.

Great Escapes RV Resorts, which bought the park in 2021, has focused on enhancing and expanding the facilities to create a family camping destination. Among the key improvements is the enlarged Wibit floating water obstacle course, which features a new 13-foot-high “mountain.” Other activities include laser tag, mini golf, organized arts and crafts, gem mining, and various sports.

The park has also added 30 new luxury cabins, each designed to accommodate up to eight guests. These cabins offer all the comforts of home, including air conditioning, private bathrooms, complete kitchens, and hotel-quality furnishings.

General Manager Eric Meyers highlighted the changes and improvements at the park, noting that visitors who have not been to the Thumbcoast Jellystone Park in a while, or ever, will be in for a real surprise.

“Everything a family needs for a great vacation is right here. There are comfortable, new cabins to stay in and more to do than ever before,” Meyers added.

Another aspect of the attractions is the park’s café, activities center, and Ranger Station, which have been remodeled. Additionally, RVers will appreciate the upgraded sites, which now feature full hookups.

For themed celebrations, the Cocoa Carnival: A Decadent Celebration of Chocolate Bliss and Whiskers and Wags: A Pet-tacular Affair are available.

Campground owners can learn from the strategy implemented by the Jellystone park by focusing on creating unique, family-friendly amenities tailored for the summer season. Introducing attractions like a multilevel splash pad, two-story water slides, and other engaging upgrades can significantly boost guest satisfaction and encourage repeat visits.
