31st Annual Northwest Michigan RV and Camping Show set to Kick Off this Weekend

According to a report by UpNorthLive, the 31st Annual Northwest Michigan RV and Camping Show is set to take place this upcoming weekend at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center, as eager campers and outdoor enthusiasts gear up for the spring season.

Scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, the show promises to showcase a range of campers, RVs, and other outdoor equipment that will enable families and friends to plan their next great adventure.

Andy Kreager, the general manager of Nature & Me R.V., told UpnorthLive in an interview that this is the perfect time to start thinking about purchasing campers for the year.

“Supply has been very good with getting units in obviously anytime a year,” Kreager said.

“It’s a great time to buy an RV, this time we are having a few sales this spring,” Kreager added.

This comes as good news for RV enthusiasts after companies struggled to keep up with demand last year. However, Darren Ing, the director of the Michigan Association of Recreation Vehicles & Campgrounds, noted in the same interview that these issues have since resolved themselves.

“Manufacturers are able to produce and meet the demands of the dealerships and their customers,” Ing said.

This year, RVing is at an all-time high, with 11 million RV owners camping in 2022, a significant increase from the 2 million RV campers reported in 2021. In Michigan alone, there are over 1,300 licensed campgrounds to choose from.

“Camping alone is a great opportunity for people to enjoy each other’s company and an opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle to unplug,” Ing said.

“And it’s an opportunity to relax and have that family time together in a setting that allows people to get outdoors and enjoy nature,” Ing added.

Michigan ranks fifth in the US for RV shipments, according to Michigan RV and Campgrounds, a surprising statistic given the state’s long winters.

“We’re really looking forward to having it warm up a little bit,” Kreager said.

“Being able to get the slides out on all of our units. We’re taking on a new class B are airstreams taken on their Class B Range-line. We’re very excited to take on the motorized units,” Kreager added.

As the official start of the spring season approaches, the Northwest Michigan RV and Camping Show is a great opportunity for individuals and families to plan their next outdoor adventure and make memories that will last a lifetime.

The Northwest Michigan RV and Camping Show provides an opportunity for dealerships to showcase their products and for consumers to explore and purchase a wide range of campers and RVs.

The show serves as a barometer for the industry, indicating trends in consumer demand and providing a platform for manufacturers to unveil new models and innovations.

Last year, the RV industry experienced unprecedented demand due to the pandemic as people sought safer ways to travel and spend time outdoors.

However, this surge in demand put a strain on supply chains and caused inventory shortages.

The Northwest Michigan RV and Camping Show signals a return to normalcy for the industry as manufacturers are now able to produce and meet the demands of dealerships and their customers.

As RVing continues to gain popularity, events like the Northwest Michigan RV and Camping Show become increasingly important for the industry to showcase its products and connect with consumers.
