As the year draws to a close, leaders in the outdoor hospitality industry will return for an all-new episode of MC Fireside Chats to discuss the year that has passed and what the future holds for the outdoor hospitality industry on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.
Intrepid Group CEO and Director for Southwest Operations Randy Hendrickson, Horizon Outdoor Hospitality CEO Scott Foos, Campspot Vice President for Business Development Casey Cochran, Campground Views Founder and CEO Mark Koep, Camping Dreams Co-Founder Ivar Mensink, and RV industry advisor Sandy Ellingson return for another round of insightful discussions on the latest news and trends in the outdoor hospitality industry.
The recurring guests will be joined by special host Jenna Celmer, President, Co-Founder and Chief Community Officer of Basecamp as she fills in for regular hosts Brian Searl and Cara Csizmadia.

Last November 30, MC Fireside Chats broadcast a special episode which brought together experts and pioneers from different sectors of the outdoor hospitality industry from Europe and North America: Olja Nicholl, CEO and co-founder of Nicholl Group which manages Lala Vineyard Glamping Resort, Serbia’s first luxury glamping resort; Stephanie Bias, general manager at Camp Aramoni in Illinois; Valentina Kožarić, front office manager for Camp Omišalj, a premium camping and glamping resort in Croatia; and Giacomo Sanna, the architectural design manager for The Bubble Retreat and one of the founding partners of start-up Easyglamping – Blueforward.
Inspired by the United Arab Emirates’ burgeoning glamping industry, Nicholl decided to bring glamping to Serbia.
According to her, it was not an easy feat as Serbia is a small, landlocked country with little natural resources. This meant that they had to be resourceful and figure out ways to offer a unique experience to guests. Today, Lala Vineyard takes a sustainable, and community-driven approach to provide authentic, local experiences while also promoting the wine industry in the country.
For Bias, Camp Aramoni’s main challenge was defining their identity: from glamping to luxury camping and now boutique camping. When asked what the future holds for them, Bias said they aim to create better, unique experiences, and add more accommodations while operating year-round.
Kožarić further noted that the camping and glamping industry in Croatia is growing. Since the company’s inception, they have had to offer something different each year.
Sanna, an architect by training with a fondness for utilizing new technologies such as 3D modeling, talked about the struggles of bureaucracy affecting the glamping industry in Italy and how they developed new solutions that can help glamping businesses in the country move forward.
