KRUG Expedition, renowned for its expertise in crafting world-class expedition vehicles, has launched the Bedrock XT2 in the United States. This new vehicle is designed to meet the needs of adventurers and thrill-seekers with a focus on remote exploration.
Known for designing rugged and versatile adventure rigs, KRUG Expedition’s entry into the U.S. market marks a significant milestone. The Bedrock XT2, the company’s most capable vehicle to date, leverages over three decades of automotive ingenuity and design prowess.
“The Bedrock XT2 is the result of years of extensive testing and customer feedback,” said Slawa Knorr, CEO of KRUG Expedition. “We’ve noticed major demand from the U.S. marketplace. The Bedrock XT2 gives us a perfect opportunity to enter this market with a vehicle capable of transforming modern expedition travel.”
Built on a custom AT44 XT2 Ford F-550 chassis designed in partnership with Arctic Trucks, the Bedrock XT2 stands out for its comfort and capability, according to a press release.
Randy Hasson, COO of Arctic Trucks North America, emphasized the collaboration, stating, “We see Krug as a natural partner in building high-quality, well-engineered mobility solutions.”
The vehicle features a tri-axle 6×4 drivetrain, enhancing weight distribution and comfort on diverse terrains. The third axle reduces ground pressure by up to 25%, while the 365/80R20 Continental multi-purpose tires offer excellent traction. The 8-link rear air suspension system with independent control further improves handling and stability.
Inside, the Bedrock XT2 offers luxurious amenities, including a king-size bed, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom with advanced water filtration. The living module uses reinforced sandwich panels for superior insulation, ensuring comfort in extreme conditions.
For sustainable energy, the vehicle is equipped with a 1450 Wp solar panel array and a 23 kWh Li-Ion battery bank. Connectivity is also a priority, with preparation for Starlink installation and multiple Smart TVs for entertainment on the go.
Customization options abound, catering to different climates and needs. Options include an outdoor kitchen, hydronic heating for cold climates, and efficient air conditioning for hot environments.
The Bedrock XT2 debuted at the Overland Expo West in Flagstaff last May 17, with a starting price of $690,000. For more information, visit KRUG Expedition’s website.
