Southern Aire RV Resort in Thonotonassa has received a 2026 Best Park Award from the Florida and Alabama RV Park and Campground Association, recognizing the resort for excellence in operations, guest services and overall park management.
The award was presented April 30 during the association’s annual Outdoor Hospitality Convention & Expo at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando.
Southern Aire RV Resort features 432 sites and offers amenities including a heated pool and spa, a large lake, a dog park and a common area for guests.
The resort is also adding two cornhole pads and hosts karaoke events every other weekend.
According to a press release, Linda Stith, who has managed the park for Wilder RV Resorts for the past four years, said the resort’s focus is on customer service and creating a welcoming environment for guests.
“I don’t have all the amenities that some have. But what I can offer is peace, quiet, some of the friendliest people you’re ever going to meet, and some of the best customer service,” Stith said.
Stith said the resort emphasizes hospitality and personal connections with visitors.
“If you come in, I guarantee you are going to feel like family,” Stith said.
According to the Florida and Alabama RV Park and Campground Association, recipients of the Best Park Award are selected based on performance across multiple areas of park operations.
Criteria include excellence in business management, staff performance and guest interactions, as reflected in guest reviews and ratings.
The association said winning parks maintain quality facilities, amenities and guest services while demonstrating a consistent record of guest satisfaction. Award recipients are also recognized for ongoing efforts to improve the guest experience and enhance park operations.
In addition to operational standards, honorees are evaluated on their involvement with the Florida and Alabama RV Park and Campground Association. The recipients also demonstrate loyalty, leadership and commitment to advancing the outdoor hospitality industry in Florida and Alabama.
Based in Tallahassee, the Florida and Alabama RV Park and Campground Association represents privately owned RV parks and campgrounds across both states.
Established in 1966, the trade association provides business services, advocacy and promotional support for the outdoor hospitality industry and publishes free camping guides for Florida and Alabama.
