The Florida–Alabama RV Park & Campground Association is seeking input from member parks in Florida and Alabama to support upcoming press releases and articles for Woodall’s focused on snowbird travel and winter camping demand. The initiative aims to highlight parks that serve seasonal visitors, including Canadian travelers who spend the winter months in the southern United States.
In a notice to members, the association said its publicist, Jeff Crider, is collecting information about parks’ expectations for the upcoming winter season. The coverage is intended to promote participating parks and provide information relevant to snowbirds considering winter stays in Florida and Alabama.
The association is asking park operators to share how they expect their snowbird business to perform compared with the previous winter and the winter before that. Operators are encouraged to indicate whether they anticipate an increase, a decrease, or relatively stable business, including estimated percentage changes where available.
The questionnaire also seeks information about the factors influencing expected bookings. These may include changing travel patterns, customer preferences, pricing, economic conditions, and demand from different visitor markets. Responses could help provide a clearer picture of the conditions shaping winter occupancy across participating parks, although the association has not published any findings or forecasts as part of the request.
Another focus is the Canadian snowbird market. The association is asking operators whether they have experienced a decline in Canadian guests and, if so, whether they have been able to replace those visitors with customers from the United States. The questions are intended to help assess changes in the composition of winter business at parks that traditionally attract seasonal visitors from Canada.
For campground and RV park owners, this information can help frame decisions about marketing, customer acquisition, and seasonal revenue planning. Comparing booking expectations across multiple winters may help operators identify changes in demand, while tracking the origin of guests can provide insight into whether marketing efforts are reaching new customer segments. However, the questionnaire itself does not establish the extent of any decline in Canadian visitation or confirm whether U.S. travelers are replacing that demand.
The association is also inviting members to report recent park expansions and new amenities. Operators can provide details about improvements that may influence booking decisions or support their positioning in the winter market. The questionnaire further asks whether parks are offering promotions to encourage snowbird reservations, giving participating businesses an opportunity to describe their seasonal marketing efforts.
Members who have recently opened a park or expect to open one soon are being asked to submit additional information, including the property’s website, the number of campsites and rental accommodations, and its opening date. These details could help Woodall’s identify new or expanding destinations for its upcoming coverage.
Responses must be emailed to Crider at campinginfosource@gmail.com by Sunday, October 4, 2026. Members are instructed to include their name, title, and park name. Crider may follow up with additional questions.
The outreach comes ahead of the winter season, a key operating period for many Florida and Alabama parks that accommodate snowbirds. For operators, participation offers an opportunity to share current business conditions and promote their properties to prospective seasonal visitors. The association has not specified when the resulting press releases or articles will be published.
The notice was issued by Bobby Cornwell, president and CEO of the Florida–Alabama RV Park & Campground Association.
