Board Election Preparations Underway at RV Industry Association

The RV Industry Association (RVIA) has begun preparations for its 2026 Board of Directors election, launching the nomination process for three board seats that will help shape the organization’s leadership beginning in 2027.

The Governance Committee is overseeing the election process and preparing a ballot of qualified industry leaders interested in serving on the board.

According to a News and Insights report of RVIA on June 12, the election is scheduled to take place in late August and early September, with results expected to be announced near the end of September.

Newly elected directors will begin their three-year terms on Jan. 1, 2027.

Three seats will be contested in this year’s election, including one RV manufacturer seat, one park model RV manufacturer seat and one supplier seat.

The association said its 2027 Board of Directors will include five standing directors drawn from the three largest RV manufacturers and two largest suppliers.

In addition, there will be 10 elected directors representing five RV manufacturers, one park model RV manufacturer and four suppliers.

The board may also appoint up to two additional directors to provide skills and perspectives that benefit the association. The immediate past chair serves on the board as well, while former board chairs who remain active in the industry are eligible to continue serving.

Beyond candidates identified by the Governance Committee, the association’s bylaws allow qualified individuals to be nominated directly by members.

Nominations must be submitted in writing and identify a specific candidate who holds an active managerial position with a voting-class member company in good standing.

To qualify, nominations must also be signed by the official RVIA representatives of at least three additional member companies within the same voting class. The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. EDT on July 3.

All properly submitted nominations will be reviewed by the Governance Committee, and qualified candidates will be added to the final election ballot.

The association said the Board of Directors serves as its highest governing authority and is responsible for setting and overseeing strategy and policies related to standards, marketing, government affairs, industry education, statistical data and finances.

Under the association’s bylaws, candidates must be employed in an active managerial role by a voting-class member company in good standing. Companies must have all dues and assessments paid and cannot be under suspension.

Individuals employed by associate members, manufacturers’ representatives or honorary member entities are not eligible to run.

Board members serve three-year terms and may serve a maximum of three consecutive elected terms. The board typically meets three times annually, including during the RV Industry Leadership Conference in March, RV’s Move America Week in June and the RV Dealers Association Convention in November, with additional conference calls held as needed.
