Day 2 of the Canadian Camping and RV Association’s (CCRVA) CampEx: Canadian Outdoor Hospitality Conference promises an engaging mix of keynote addresses, networking opportunities, and industry-specific sessions in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
The event, known for fostering innovation and collaboration in the outdoor hospitality sector, continues its momentum with a packed schedule tailored to campground owners and industry professionals after a successful day 1 which commenced on Sunday, November 17.
In a recent interview with Modern Campground, Cara Csizmadia, president of the CCRVA, underscored the importance of this event. “The importance of CampEx cannot be understated. Several years without an event of its type have generated pent-up demand and appetite to gather in this format,” she said.
The day began with a keynote from Dan Trommater, a transformational leadership expert. Trommater’s session, titled “Unlocking Potential,” is designed to inspire attendees to challenge assumptions and embrace new perspectives. His approach using humor and magic aims to equip campground owners with strategies for growth and innovation, both personally and professionally.
Networking also takes center stage with the morning mixer. Designed to break the ice, this lively event incorporated interactive activities to foster connections among attendees.
Following the keynote, the CampEx Trade Show opens its doors from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Exhibit Hall C.
Featuring over 50 vendor booths, the trade show offers attendees the chance to explore cutting-edge products and services that enhance outdoor hospitality experiences. Exhibitors range from camping gear suppliers to software innovators, providing solutions to elevate campground operations.
The afternoon session will feature three concurrent breakout sessions targeting critical aspects of campground management. Tyler Duffy of CampLife leads “Before You Go With Your Gut: Making Business Decisions Driven by Data,” providing actionable insights into leveraging data for informed decision-making. This session is especially valuable for those looking to optimize their operations with industry trends.
Sustainability also takes the spotlight in “Sustainable Tourism: Not Just a Catch Phrase,” hosted by Explorers’ Edge. This session delves into practical approaches to integrating sustainable practices in tourism.
Meanwhile, “Winterizing Trailers: A New Revenue Stream” offers practical guidance for campground owners exploring trailer winterization as an additional income source. The session walks participants through techniques and strategies to implement this service efficiently, providing attendees with tangible skills to increase revenue.
As the trade show winds down, the excitement carries into the evening with the Ontario Celebration and Live Auction at the Marriott on the Falls. This gala event features a dinner, awards presentations, and a live auction hosted by Camping In Ontario.
CampEx 2024 serves as the Canadian Camping and RV Association’s first national in-person conference in over a decade. The event runs from November 17 through 20, gathering owners, operators, vendors, and outdoor hospitality experts.
